Invitation and News from the Chair: July 2025 UT Staff Council General Meeting

I am pleased to introduce myself as your new UT Staff Council Chair. My name is Brian Winkelmann, and I look forward to serving you and ensuring that our council continues to communicate your interests with integrity and dedication.

First and foremost, on behalf of UT Staff Council's leadership team, I want to extend my heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the recent tragic floods in Texas. Our colleagues in the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) have created a web page listing resources and reflections on how to care for yourself and others right now - Holding Space: Caring for Ourselves and Each Other in the Wake of the Flooding in Central Texas. EAP colleagues can be reached via phone (512-471-3366) or email eap@austin.utexas.edu.

Please consider joining us at the July UT Staff Council General Meeting this Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 2-3:30 p.m. We are looking forward to hosting Fernando Castillo, who will be reviewing benefits-related information and fielding questions, as well as Dr. Art Markman who will explore strategies for dealing with the emotional toll of uncertain times while also working as effectively as possible.
