August General Meeting Recap

During our August general meeting this past Thursday, August 20th, we had good discussion as well as presentations on the new Learning & Development unit and results of the recent Staff Survey.  If you missed it and would like to watch the recording, it is available here.

Protect Texas Together Campaign

In anticipation of the start of classes on Wednesday, August 26th, leadership has asked for our help in building community spirit and modeling safe behavior for those who will be on campus.  There is a community social media campaign, starting today and going through Friday.  If you feel so inspired, you can post a picture or video of yourself to social media wearing a mask (UT branded if you have it) and with “horns up”, using the hashtag #ProtectTexasTogether.  You can also temporarily change your profile photo.  Make sure you’re wearing your mask correctly!

Example posts:

  • I’m excited about the fall semester and will do my part to #ProtectTexasTogether
  • We can do this Longhorn Nation if we all #ProtectTexasTogether #hookem

There are also phone and computer backgrounds, email signatures, and Zoom backgrounds available in the Protect Texas Together Box folder (available to UT Box accounts only).

This is a small thing that we can all do to encourage safety on campus – I hope that you will consider participating!

As always, if you have suggestions or concerns that you would like us to be aware of, please send them to your representative(s), directly to me, or via our optionally anonymous Issues Form.
