As a current staff member, you have unlimited 24/7 access to Lynda.com, which hosts more than 2400 courses and 115,000 tutorials, with new courses added every week, at no cost to you. Through high-quality videos, this online course library provides instruction on the use of software and training on a wide range of tools and disciplines.

There are many ways to take advantage of Lynda.com. Some people take courses for their own interest and skill development. Some people prefer to searchLynda.com to find an answer to a specific technical question, like how to use a particular feature in PowerPoint or Photoshop. Still others use it for certification training.

One feature added recently toLynda.com is the ability to create and share “playlists” of courses or specific videos.

  1. Go to https://shib.lynda.com/Shibboleth.sso/InCommon?providerId=https://idp.its.utexas.edu/idp/shibboleth&target=https://shib.lynda.com/InCommon
  2. An EID Authentication page will open.
  3. Log in with your EID and password.
  4. If you are asked whether to create a new Lynda.com account or merge an existing account, create a new account.
  5. Start exploring the massive collection of online training videos available, and start learning!

There is also an Apple iPhone/iPad (iOS) application and an Android application.  Other mobile devices can view the Lynda mobile site in a web browser at http://m.lynda.comas follows:

  1. Go to m.lynda.com
  2. Click on “login” in the upper right corner (or the “log in” button on the main display window)
  3. Under Log in through my organization or school enter utexas.edu and hit the gobutton.
  4. Login with your UT EID and password
  5. If you are asked whether to create a new Lynda.com account or merge an existing account, create a new account.
